HALLELUJAH
He must change his life:
He bathes in a fountain of knowledge,
searching for how to live
facing an inevitable rain of fire.
With an unquenchable thirst for life,
he’s amazed by death—
and reaches for the Ark of God.
He listens to stillness.
Charmed by the fragrance of a woman’s body,
he climbs aboard the twin roads of thighs—
discovering he must live with the fiery rapture
of a pounding heart to avoid the anguish of loneliness.
He meditates, creates, prays,
and tries living on top of a mountain,
and in a cave to free his fractured soul
from darkness, but, finds a home alongside
the tranquil-blue of a silent pond.
He makes money and loses money,
lives alone and in a crowd,
never forgets he’s a Jew or a Monk,
and sings with the breath of God
in a basso profondo gravelly voice.
He’s sometimes in the moment
and sometimes out of the moment—
but, he’s a star among stars who sings
about how he can’t live without love.
An enlightened role model—
who never stops laughing at himself
in his quest for ravishing joy
and the deepest bliss.
